Radial Tyres Quality Guarantee
The Blockley Tyre Co. was started to design and manufacture tyres and associated parts for very different reasons to how things were being done elsewhere. The purpose of Blockley is to produce the very best and authentic looking tyres that is possible to make, because what was available was of a low standard, irrespective of the brand name and how expensively they were sold for! When Blockley started making radial tyres we must have been taken seriously enough for the Dunlop Aquajet tyre to get V rated over the H rating they had been for a long time, and so on, and later on they followed with their 205/70R15 size, and then reducing the list prices! Note that the reasonable selling price of our radial Blockley tyres is because we had not increased a tyre price in 20 years as mould and tooling costs were paid off, coupled with selling direct to the end user, which cuts out the "Classic" tyre wholesaler middlemen. So do not be concerned about what would appear our low prices - we produce tyres for different reasons to all other producers who have profit at their core, whereas we make our products because we are also end users of what we make, so need things as good as can be. Ask yourselves why a private individual needed to start Blockley Tyre Co. to produce a highest quality product, if what was already available was adequate. One well known brand has a faulty sidewall in their range, even to this day! The Blockley radial range of tyres are an exceptional product, where every tyre is checked for balance and roundness and marked up for the tyre fitter to position optimally on a wheel, again something that you do not see on the brand name tyres, no doubt due to the extra cost and the tyres rejected in the tests.
Our purpose at Blockley is to produce the very best product that it is possible to make, with no shortcuts or cost constraints in our tooling, production or attention to detail. A no compromise product that is authentic in every detail. If this was not the case, there would be no point in producing the Blockley range of our steel belted radial ply tyres.
We suggest customers scrub their tyres in, in order to remove any mould release agent from the surface - something any motorcyclist you meet would know all about! And car tyres are no different. Even vehicle manual will also point this out, along with bedding in brakes and engines. This scrubbing in process can occur quickly, however we would suggest anything up to 100km, which is what many owners manuals recommend - in other words tyres will improve as they are used in this early stage.
After scrubbing in you can really take advantage of the exceptional grip and overall handling of these period authentic looking Blockley tyres, in both wet and dry conditions. So much so that after driving for circa 1,000 miles, if you are not convinced the Blockley is best tyres you've ever driven on, you can return them for a refund of the the purchase price. Anyone who has actually driven on any of the Blockley range of radial tyres has been surprised how good they are. Ride quality, improved handling, grip in the wet and lighter steering, as well as the cars looking so much better on them with their period authentic tread patterns. Many even use the Blockley radials for track days in preference to the Avon CR6Z, and numerous important Rallies have been won outright on these Blockley radial tyres. But best to find out directly for yourselves! The Classic Tyre wholesaler experts will always denigrate Blockley products, because they are not allowed to sell them, and they can be very persuasive! If you try the Blockleys and if you are not convinced of of the claims we make for them then we would have them back - but so far people have only been impressed. And when you are impressed, you'll probably pass on the recommendation. We don't need to waste money on advertising, spending everything on the tyres and tubes themselves, and not having to recoup advertising costs is another way of having what appears a reasonable list price for the highest quality product.
The only thing that surprises us at Blockley is why anyone would want to buy anything else! Unless they do not know about Blockley, which is likely because we concentrate our effort and expenditure on our products rather than advertising and marketing, which seems such a waste of time - these funds being better spent to make new tooling and new sizes! But marketing for the big companies is probably more important than the product itself. The reason for making our Blockley tyres is because we are also end users ourselves, which is why we also make some unusual sizes which we'll be unlikely to break even on for decades, bearing in mind everything we make is on new made moulds and tooling - not old worn out that have been found. Had there been anything else of wholesome quality there would have been no need to produce the Blockley range. The Blockley radial tyres are listed on the RAC MSA List 1A (now Motorsports UK List 1A) and these road legal tyres are also eligible for use for rallies, hill climbs and other motor sport use. A car using our road going radial Blockley tyres has won the RAC Rally of the Tests as well as the Pirelli Marathon Challenge, which speaks for itself. We are confident that anyone experiencing the Blockley radial tyres will never want to use anything else.
