Volkswagen - Volkswagen Scirocco
The Volkswagen Scirocco was built on the platform of the VW Golf with a low built body designed by Guigaro, and was available for a while before the Golf was introduced, from 1974. This was to be the sportier VW to take over from the Karman Ghia, with it's practical 2 door plus hatchback bodywork, and was assembled by Karman Ghia. There were 5 engine capacities starting at 1100cc to 1600cc (plus a larger engine for the USA), while the GTi version made it to market before the Golf. The first model of Scirocco was built up to 1981 after which came the Type 2 version which was in production to 1992.
Tyre size for the VW Scirocco was 175/70R13 for all models and capacities, fitted to a 5.5J wheel rim. This covers Scirocco LS, GT, GL, GTi and GLi, for which Blockley produces the perfect high speed rated 175/70VR13 tyre. The only exception was the Scirocco L which was fitted with the narrower 155R13 tyre size. See full details of both these superb 155HR13 and 175/70VR13 tyres at the links below:
