235/60VR15
Although Blockley does not manufacture a 235/60VR15 tyre, we do make a very similar tyre size, which many people use in place of the 235/60VR15 tyre, dimensionally similar, and at a fraction of the price.

In theory, a 235/60VR15 tyre should have a larger diameter than a 215/70R15 size, but in the real world the actual tyre dimensions are different to the theoretical numbers, and all this seems to be okay so long as the tyre is within the dimensions allowed to E Mark a tyre. So, for example, a Pirelli P6000 235/60VR15 tyre is quoted with a diameter of 689mm, while the Blockley 215/70VR15 has a diameter of 683mm - both of which are quite large when you consider that a 235/60R15 tyre size has a theoretical much smaller diameter of 663mm, which happens to be the diameter that the "raised whitewall" low speed rated BF Goodrich has. So when you take all these things into account then you can appreciate why so many people fit the Blockley 215/70VR15 tyre as it is a good match, especially as both the 235/60VR15 Pirelli and the Blockley tyres are coming in at up to an inch larger in diameter than the 235/60R15 size!
Again comparing the overall width, the Pirelli 235/60VR15 is quoted 244mm overall width and a Blockley 215/70VR15 is 232mm overall.
As an example, the Jaguar XJS second series from 1981 was fited with the 215/70VR15 tyre size, while from 1987 these XJS got fitted with the almost the same 235/60VR15 size. Today for these later cars a large number of owners choose to fit the Blockley 215/70VR15 size over the 235/60VR15 size, with no ill effects at all. And the Blockleys come in at almost half the cost (£430 including vat for a P6000 235/60 VR15 Pirelli compared to £238 inc. vat for the Blockley 215/70VR15).
