28x3 beaded edge / clincher tyre by Blockley which has an authentic period correct "diamond" tread pattern, a pattern that existed in the early days of motor cars and and motorcycles. This correctly researched 28x3 tyre by Blockley is unlike any other brand of 28x3 tyre offered through the Classic car tyre wholesalers, with an excellent build quality, using new moulds and tooling, along with a robust tyre construction as it should be - so it not only looks perfect but will give excellent service.

This 28x3 Blockley tyre has the diameter and overall width of what the 28x3 tyre size actually had in period, which is a diameter considerably more than 28 inches! This is a tyre produced by us as part of the request for various beaded edge tyre sizes by the V.M.C.C, the Vintage Motor Cycle Club, who had concerns about the poor quality of beaded edge motorcycle tyres available to their membership from the Classic tyre wholesalers. And since we are needing this 28x3 size for a Veteran car that we own, our 28x3 tyre has been manufactured to be perfect for motorcar as well as motorcycle use.
The 28x3 tyre size was a popular fitment for a variety of early American cars such as Curved Dash Oldsmobile, many of the earlier Ford models such as Model A and N, Cadillac Model A, Rambler, Maxwell and so on, as well as being used on European marques. This 28x3 tyre with its good looking tread pattern is also perfect for many of the V twin Indian and Harley-Davidson motorcycles, making these bikes not only look just as they did in period, but with a superb quality tyre now available. The 28x3 tyre size is an imperial dimensioned tyre, along with the wheel rim it fitted, but in Europe this tyre did also get referred to as 700x75 in some lists.
We are able to list price our Blockley 28x3 tyre at no more than the Ensign brand 28x3 sold elsewhere, and close to half the price of Cokers Excelsior, and at a fraction of the 28x3 Coker Firestone "Non -Skid" and Button tyres, all of which is possible because we sell our Blockleys direct to the end user and garages/ restoration shops, without using the services of the Classic tyre wholesalers in the UK. But now that our Blockley 28x3 is available we might soon see the wholesalers reducing their prices, offering free tubes and postage and so on!
Note that Blockley can also supply a butyl inner tube to suit this tyre for those that require tubes, which we would recommend when fitting 28x3 tyres.
