Our Blockley 600/650x18 tyre was made by popular demand, particularly for owners of cars like the bigger Lagonda's such as LG45, LG6 and V12 examples. Note that this tyre has the correct and authentic slimmer overall width compared to many alternative tyres produced today, in particular the Michelin which people were using, which is far too fat overall and touches suspension components when in use! These 600/650x18 Blockley tyres will not rub on the track rod ends of these Lagonda's under cornering. It is unfortunate that so many owners of Lagondas have resorted to even getting their steering arms bent and shortening their track rod length in order to fit the Michelin alternative which was not researched correctly and built to incorrect dimensions! The Blockey 600/650x18 tyre is produced with our unique 5 stud tread pattern, and will be a revelation in handling and ride quality to all who use them!
All Blockley Cross (Bias) ply tyres are made to fit the original rim widths, something many manufacturers have forgotten about over time. In addition these are tyres for genuine road use, with a robust sidewall and covering, capable of being 'curbed' as you would expect from a tyre suitable for road use. We wanted a suitable mid 1930's - 50's look. The compounding of all our cross (Bias) ply tyres conform to FIA Appendix K which uses Dunlop 204 compound as it used to be, as reference hardness.
All Blockley tyres are made using new moulds and tooling and a high level of quality control, resulting in a product of unsurpassed quality, roundness and conformity. As with all Blockley products, if we are not making the best then there is no point in making it.
