765x105
Blockley do not technically manufacture a 765x105 tyre, but we do make a tyre that is arguably more correct than anything sold today as a 765x105, which fits the 765x105 wheel rim!
In period the 765x105 tyre was made with a diameter of 792mm, but fast forward to today and the modern replacement 765x105 tyres available from the tyre wholesalers have a much smaller 770mm quoted, although after they read this I have no doubt they will start to quote a larger number!
The wheel rim for a 765x105 tyre is virtually the same as the one for the 760x90 tyre, except it has a 14mm wider width (89mm compared to 75mm), and since the Blockley brand 760x90 (unlike other brands who make them too small now) is made to the original period diameter of 776mm it is considered by many a useful alternative in place of a "765x105". And at a gargantuan saving!
| Type | Beaded Edge |
|---|---|
| Overall diameter | 776mm |
| Rim width (min) | Overall width 75mm |
| Rim width (max) | Overall width 89mm |
| Rim width (recommended) | 760x90 rim or 765x105 rim. |
As an example, numerous customers have purchased our Blockley 760x90 tyres which are fitted to their original 765x105 wheel rims, to replace the old 765x105 tyres previously. The cost of these four Blockley tyres (including all taxes) is currently £955.20. The cost of four alternative Excelsior 765x105 tyres including taxes is £2,606.40. Quite some difference. So by fitting the alternative Blockley tyres, which even have a more correct diameter compared to what the 765x105 tyre was in period, just the saving on four tyres for each customer was over £1,650! And the quality and savings continued to flow when they used the 760x90 Blockley Superior tubes over the Michelin 760x90 inner tubes.
