De Tomaso - De Tomaso Deauville

The Deauville, introduced in 1971, was a departure from what most imagine a De Tomaso is, in that it was a 4 door saloon, albeit a high performance one. Bodywork was by Ghia from their in house designer Tom Tjaarda. The Deauville was listed in the De Tomaso catalogue through to 1985.

When De Tomoaso was in charge of Maseratis comeback after the takeover in 1975, this Deauville was re engined from V8 Ford to V8 Maserati which became the basis of the Quattroporte 3, with new designed bodywork by his old friend Guigaro, the bodywork panels of which were made at Innocenti, another of the De Tomaso companies.
