Fiat - Fiat X1/9
Built alongside the Fiat 124 Sport Spider, this mid engined Bertone penned Fiat X1/9 sports car was the replacement for the Fiat 850 Spider. The Fiat X1/9 was available from 1973 through to 1989. Produced at the Fiat factory until 1982, andproduction continued afterwards at Bertone. The pop up headlight feature was because the X1/9 was designed with the American market in mind. The engine was based on the unit used in the Fiat 1300 Coupe, but with some revisions. For 1979 the engine size was increased to 1498cc.
The X1/9 was supplied with 4.5J13 steel wheels as standard, with a cast alloy option available. The tyre size used was originally 145R13 , a size which Blockley makes the perfect example of, which has full profile (ie 145/80R13) size with a good speed rating. See the full details of below.
