Jaguar - Jaguar XKE Series 3 (V12)
The Series 3 V12 EType Jaguar was available from 1971, with Jaguars new 5.3 litre V12 engine giving 272bhp from its 4 carburettor engine. For the Series 3 EType, the body option was either open or the 2+2 bodywork, the fixed head coupe type of earlier times not being an option. The Series 3 V12 E type was available until 1975.
The tyre size for the V12 Series 3 Jaguar EType was originally 205/70VR15, V rated for the 150mph. Period literature quotes ER70VR15 which is another way of saying the same size 205/70VR15. Because many European customers require a higher speed rating than V (149mph) for their annual vehicle inspection, the authorities require the next higher speed rate of a W (168mph) rated tyre, so Blockley have re tested and recertified their 205/70VR15 tyre which is now marked 205/70VR15 W to conform with the requirements of a higher W (168mph) speed rated tyre.
