MG - MG M Type

The MG M Type, first exhibited in late 1928, was based wholly on the Morris Minor. Apart from its open lightweight 2 seater bodywork, the main differences were a raked steering column to get a lower driving position, which required the gear lever altering, and modified springs. This was the first of a long line of the MG "Midget" cars. The engine was the 847cc overhead camshaft of the Minor, built for the 8hp tax bracket, the Morris Minor being an earlier Wolseley project that never saw light of day. Production of the MG M Type went into 1932.
