MG - MG TA

The MGTA was the first of the T type 2 seater MG models introduced for 1936, following the sale of the MG Car Co. to Morris Motors in 1935., with Leonard Lord as managing director. The new model was built to a now more cost conscious regime to improve profitability, which in this case meant dropping the overhead camshaft Wolseley derived engines previously used, replacing them with the Morris based 1292cc pushrod engine of considerably more capacity which gave it much more torque. And the purchaser got an overall larger carthat was longer wider and more comfortable, with hydraulic brakes on smaller 9" drums. The TA was well appointed, and very good value, which made the MG TA a successful model for the new company. Production carried on to 1939.

Tyre size for the MG TA was 450x19 , and Blockley produce the best quailty 450x19 available. A few of the earlier TA's built were fitted with a larger tyre size so our 475x19 tyre would be suitable for these. See full details below:
