Peugeot - Peugeot 403
The Peugeot 403 was produced from 1955, its 1468cc engine putting it in the 8CV tax category. This was the 1290cc engine reworked. It was a 4 door saloon, an estate car "Commercial" (as well as a pick up) and a 2 door cabriolet. From 1958 a diesel engine option was also included. There was also a base model Peugeot 403/7 available from 1960 with a smaller 1290cc engine to put it in the 7hp tax bracket. The Peugeot 403 was in production until 1966.
Peugeot 403 tyre size was originally 165x380, which was a different way of numbering the tyre as 380mm is 15 inches, so this is a 165R15 tyre, and were fitted to a 4 1/2J wheel. Blockley produces an exceptional period correct high quality 165VR15 tyre size.
