Peugeot - Peugeot 404

The Peugeot 404 was produced from 1960, as a 4 door family car. The 404 is clearly similar in so many ways to other products of Pininfarina design, penned for the British Motor Corporation, that without the Peugeot emblem you would think the saloon Peugeot 404 version was a Austin / Morris or Wolseley product! The Peugeot 404 was available with saloon, estate and pickup bodywork options. The engine was either a petrol 1.6 litre (with fuel injection later on), or a diesel 1.9 litre. In 1967 Peugeot also introduced their base model 404/8 using a smaller 1468cc engine that placed it in the 8hp tax bracket (hence 404/8). The Peugeot 404 was continually evolved, updated and improved to remain in production until 1977, after a healthy 15 years of production.

Peugeot 404 tyre size was listed 165x380 as well as 165R15 tyres (both these tyre sizes being identical as 380mm is the same as 15 inches), so our Blockley 165VR15 is the perfect fitment. The Peugeot 404 Estate car was also fitted with the same 165R15 tyre size. The base model Peugeot 404/8 was fitted with the slightly smaller 155R15 tyre size, which Blockley also produces.
