155R15 tyre size by Blockley, with an authentic period correct tread pattern and built with a steel belt construction. This 155HR15 has an excellent speed rate H (130mph / 210kph) and good load rating. Nothing you can buy elsewhere is this good, while the low price of this tyre is only because we sell direct and not through the Classic car tyre wholesalers.

This Blockley 155HR15 tyre is the radial equivalent of the old cross ply size 5.50x15. This 155R15 size was referred to in period also as 155x380 , and later on even as 155/80R15 , all of which are the radial equivalent covering cross ply tyre sizes 4.80x15 and 5.20x15 . This Blockley 155 R 15 is a full diameter size "80 profile" steel belted Radial tyre, with a good speed rating (to ensure ecellent roundness and concentricity and not needing much balancing) and period correct tread pattern, designed in house. Originally a size fitted by Alfa Romeo to the Guilietta 750 / 101 series, although many owners also fit ourslightly larger 165 VR 15 tyre size. This 155 R 15 size is also perfect for the original Volkswagen Beetle where the owner wants something better than what they are used to.  Our Volkswagen customers were amazed that a tyre with such a good load rating was finally available for their cars. We ask you do 30 miles or so to scrub in the tyres (as you should any tyre) and drive 1,000 or so miles and if they are not the best tyres a customer has driven on we will refund. These exceptional Blockley 155R15 tyres are E Marked and DOT marked (for use in the USA)

Note that in period a full diameter (also called 80 profile) tyre did not have the "/80" listed in the tyre size, because all radial tyres were full size. It was only much later as lower profile tyres started to become more common that many tyres started having the full profile marked on the sidewall. So 155R15 would also be referred to as 155/80R15, which both mean the same thing. Our Blockley tyres are marked 155R15 on the sidewall because this is the authentic numbering as it would have been originally, on what is now a "Classic" car.

Every one of these tyres is inspected and checked for dynamic balance - The small painted yellow circle on the side wall can be aligned with the valve stem by the tyre fitter so they know the optimum place to put it. We perform this additional inspection process as we are determined to supply the best possible no-compromise product.
