A Blockley 600x21 tyre (dual marked on sidewall 5.25/6.00 x 21) is of the highest quality possible, with an authentic period looking triple stud tread pattern. Owners have discovered that the good handling on these Blockleys, driven in the normal manner, have resulted in up to 30% more fuel economy, in addition to the truly exceptional handling. It just shows how poor everything else was, even with the "named" brands, which is why we made this 21" tyre, yet some people still buy these other brand tyres for some reason! These Blockley genuine road tyres are so good that all but one of the Bentleys racing at Goodwoods Bentley race were using Blockley tyres. . . 

A dual marked 525/600 x 21 which is the same specification as a 600 x 21.  We dual marked this tyre although we dislike doing so, because Michelin were producing a 500/600 x 21 at the time and many other brands were dual marked 550/600 x 21 all of which is for modern day marketing purposes.

Designed from scratch at Blockley, this is a fantastic tyre in every respect, built because there was nothing available that we would want to use, one customer noting that he received 30% more fuel economy by switching to this Blockley Tyre on his 6 1/2 litre Bentley.  The first set tested by Dr. Tim Houlding on his 3 - 4 1/2 Bentley gave nearly 4 times the road miles compared to his previous sets of Michelin tyres! Add these two facts together plus the truly authentic appearance, and why would you want to use anything other than these Blockleys? There is nothing remotely this good made, which is why so many people use them, and why since making them you see so many Bentleys and so on that previously had 18 and 19" wheels being put back to original 21" wheel size. This genuine road tyre is also often seen winning both circuit races and pre-war trials classes, as well as having been on a Best of Show outright winner at Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance! A great all round genuine road tyre which works as well as it looks. 

Prior to this 600x21 Blockley tyre, there was nothing "decent" available in 21", so many Vintage cars like Bentleys had been converted to 18 or 19 inch wheels. After we made this 21" tyre it took a while for people to get used to the "authentic" look of the cars they were fitted to, but today it is the norm, and the cars look (and work) so much better for it.

All Blockley Cross (Bias) ply  tyres are made to fit the original rim widths, something other manufacturers have forgotten about over time. It is important to appreciate these are genuine tyres for road use, with a robust sidewall and covering, capable of being 'curbed' as you would expect from a tyre suitable for road use. We liked the period look of the triple stud tyre, so we re-designed all features of this pattern to make it work correctly without wearing out in no time. The compounding of all our cross (Bias) ply tyres conform to FIA Appendix K which uses Dunlop 204 compound as its reference hardness. This same Blockley tyre, surprisingly, has no equal having won many thousands of races and other competitions as well as Concours d'Elegance events, including class wins and overall best of show at Pebble Beach!

And our realistic pricing is because we sell our tyres direct to the end user, garages and restoration shops, rather than via the Vintage and Classic tyre wholesalers, which avoids their mark ups.

This is why we coined the term Road Race for tyres when we started. Which has been copied (as have many of our tyres) by the classic tyre wholesalers who we do not sell through. So BEWARE OF IMITATIONS!
