Chevrolet - Chevrolet Corvette C1
The Chevrolet Corvette convertible sportscar became available from 1953, fitted with a 6 cylinder engine. By 1955 the Corvette was fitted with what is now called Chevrolets "small block" V8 of 235 cubic inch, and shortly afterwards this was increased to 283 cubic inch. Fuel injection by Rochester was offered from 1957, and the dual headlight front was introduced in 1958. The Chevrolet V8 had become a popular engine for racing, where the speed shops offered pistons to 4" overbore (301cubic inch) and additional stroker crankshafts to get 327 cubic inch. Chevrolet themselves then offered their own 327cubic inch engine for the Corvette in 1962. Chevrolet Corevette C1 production continued to the end of 1962.
Chevrolet Corvette C1 tyre size was originally a cross ply / bias ply 6.70x15 fitted to 5K rims. We have supplied many C1 Corvettes with the radial option 205/70R15 tyre, our W speed rated 205/70VR15W tyre, full details of which are at the link below
