Daimler - Daimler Majestic
The Daimler Majestic was the new saloon with wider bodywork built from 1958, and although already a little old fashioned looking it was perhaps one of the first production cars to be fitted with Dunlop disc brakes to all 4 wheels. The engine was a 3.8 litre (3794 cc) six cylinder version of the earlier 104 model, with a minimally larger bore bore size, although this engine now had wet liners, and many other differences, which meant for a different cylinder block casting. The later Majestics were offered with a power steering option. The 6 cylinder Daimler Majestic was produced until 1962.
The Daimler Majestic original tyre fitment was 6.50x16. For the Majestic Major (the V8 engined car) it was quoted as 6.70x16.
