Morris - Morris Cowley

The post war Morris Cowley was available from 1954. With it's 1200cc engine and spartan interior with cost savings where they could be found, it was in effect a lower priced Series 2 Morris Oxford. For 1956 the engine was enlarged to 1489cc and was called the Morris Cowley 1500, which stayed in production until 1959.

At the same time there was also confusingly the Morris Cowley that was made for commercial purposes called the Cowley MCV which was built from 1950, that was based on the Morris Oxford which from the cab area backward could be supplied as either pick ups or vans. From 1956 this was replaced with what was called the Morris 1/2 ton.

Tyre size:

- Tyre size for Morris Cowley and Morris Cowley 1500 (1954 to 1959) was originally 5.60x15, which is equivalent to radial size 155R15 . Blockley makes this 155HR15 tyre, and also with a whitewall option.

- For the Cowley van and pickups the size was also equivalent to 155R15, but if being used a lot there is also the 165R15 size to consider.
