An inner tube made for tyre sizes 450x19 to 500x19, made on our own Blockley moulds and tooling. These metal valve stems are nickel plated, as they were in period (all valve stems prewar were metal). Nothing available elsewhere is anything like the quality of what we produce. We also produce a less expensive rubber stemmed tube.

Manufactured using the best material Butyl and also thicker than anything else available (as they were in period) means that these tubes keep their air pressure for very long periods. The metal stems were how the valve stems were before the rubber stem type started to become available after a US patent in the late 1930's. Metal stems have advantages over the rubber stems (see our technical articles on this site) and will always also be the choice for people racing and wanting something better. We made these tubes because there was nothing available that we liked the look of, which is why we embarked on making our own extensive range Blockley superior inner tubes.  Note that Blockley manufacture this inner tube only for the 450, 475 and 500x19 tyre sizes. Smaller 400x19 has its own dedicated tube, as does the 350x19 have it's own particular tube, as things should be. And for a 450x18 or a 500x18 Blockley produce a separate inner tube. The big Classic tyre wholesalers preference is to have tube  to cover the 18" and 19" sizes!

And because we sell all Blockley tyres and Blockley Superior tubes direct to the end user / garages / restoration shops, avoiding the Classic tyre Wholesalers and their mark-ups, it means the best tubes in the world produced by Blockley often even cost less than the cheaper made alternatives available from the wholesalers. And don't forget to fit the Blockley rim bands in the wheel well if there are any wire wheel spokes going to this region.
