Aston Martin - Aston Martin DB2/4

The Aston Martin DB2/4 was built from 1953, now with a more practical 2+2 seating, a little more head room and an rear opening hatch. The 125bhp Vantage engine now came as standard but with the extra 75kg. of weight the performance was compromised. The solution for this came in the following year 1954 when the engine was enlarged to 3 litres and 140bhp. For 1955 the DB2/4 Mk2 had bodywork alterations while the DBMk3 had a revised grille shape and the engine producing 162bhp. Production of the DB MK3 continued to 1959.

Tyre size for the Aston Martin DB2/4 Mk1 and DB2/4 Mk2 plus the later DB Mk3 was 600x16. Blockley produce a radial equivalent great 185VR16 tyre, although many also use the Blockley cross ply 550L16 size to very good effect. This L section tyre has the correct dimensions, with period correct looks and is perfect for the DB 2/4 cars.
