DAF - DAF66
The DAF 66 was introduced in 1972 as the replacement for the earlier 55 model, with restyled bodywork. The DAF66 retained the 4 cylinder Renault engine which now gave 53hp, with the sportier 1300cc version DAF66 Marathon having the more powerful 60bhp Renault engine. The main design departure for the DAF 66 was a completely different rear suspension so the cars no longer had a swing axle, as well as now having a differential. DAF 66 production went on to 1976 as the last of the DAF models designed, before the take over of DAF by Volvo.
The original tyre fitment for the DAF 66 was 145R14 or 155R13 dpending on whether the bodywork was saloon, Coupe or Estate. The DAF66 Marathon (in both Coupe and Estate format) was fitted with the 155R13 tyre size.
