Jensen - Jensen CV8

In 1957 Richard Jensen, one of two brothers that owned Jensen Motors, fitted a Chrysler V8 into his personal Jensen 541, which no doubt gave him the idea for a V8 to later produced a similar model for production. The Jensen CV8 was the result in 1962, using the 5.9 litre Chrysler V8. The name "CV8" stood for Chrysler V8. A year afterwards in late 1963 the Jensen CV8 Mk2 was given the larger bore Chrysler 6.3 litre as iot became available from Chrysler. The final CV8 version, the CV8 Mk3, kept with the same capacity but the car had many detail changes. There was also a prototype CV8 built with 4 wheel drive as a test vehicle, which led to 4 wheel drive being offered on a later Jensen model. . .

Jensen CV8 tyre size was originally a cross ply 6.70x15, and the radial equivalent size which is 185R15 . Blockley produces a high speed rated period correct 185VR15 tyre built with steel belt construction for the CV8. Blockley also produces an alternative option 205/70VR15 tyre size which is wider (but with the same diameter) with a higher W (168mph) speed rating, which customers have also fitted to the CV8.
