Mazda - Mazda 818 Grand Familia
Mazda introduced their 818 in 1972 also marketed as the "Grand Familia", a model which was a smaller version of Mazdas 616. The Mazda 818 was available in 2 door, 4 door and Estate bodywork, and was marketed in some countries also as 808. These 818 models were all fitted with economical 4 cylinder engines (1,272cc and 1,500cc which from 1973 became1,600cc). The Mazda 808 was onlt redesignated the 818 number in Europe due to Trademark issues surrounding having a zero in the model name by Peugeot (hence Porsche also renaming their 901 the 911). Production of the Mazda 818 continued to 1978.
Tyre size for the Mazda 818 Grand Familia was originally quoted as a cross ply 6.15x13 or radial equivalent 155R13. Later Mazdas were fitted with the 165R13 size.
