Toyota - Toyota Corolla
Toyota built a car to capitalise on the demand for a small fuel efficient car, and the Toyota Corolla was the result, which was introduced in late 1966. Updated in 1970, the Corolla was followed by the third generation Corolla in 1974 (called the E30 and later E50) which also offered a hatch back body in the range.
Tyre sizes for the Toyota Corolla 1100, 1200SL and 1200 Coupe were factory listed with the 155R13 tyre size, fitted to 4J wheel rims. A wider tyre alternative (i.e. the same diameter but wider) is the 175/70R13 size that was the fitment on the 110hp Corolla. The 1.3 litre Corolla models were also mostly fitted with 155R13 tyre size. For the Corolla 1600 the tyre size was enlarged to 175/70R13, with the wider 185/70R13 a popular fitment size post 1980, while this larger 185/70R13 size was in any case listed for some of the American delivery Corolla as an option from the early 1970's.
