TVR - TVR Griffith
The TVR Griffith was produced between 1963 and 1964. The model name was Griffith 200, while the what was known as TVR in the UK was called the Griffith in the USA. Griffith had the idea of fitting the Ford V8 in a TVR, initially tested in a Grantura. Modified Grantura chassis without engines and transmission were sent to the USA and fitted either with a small block Ford, or the more powerful V* as fitted to the GT350 which resulted in phenomenal performance. Close to 200 of these Griffith 200 were made, which led on to the Griffith 400 model which was built to 1967.
Tyre size was 165R15 throughout production, but many fitted the 185/70R15 size also. Blockley produce a period correct high speed rated 165VR15 and 185/70VR15 tyres to suit these cars - see full details of these tyres at the links below:
