Alfa Romeo - Alfa Romeo Alfasud

The Alfasud was built in a brand new factory in Southern Italy as a joint partnership with the Italian government, to help boost employment in the region. Hence the model name Alfa Sud. Made from 1971 to 1989 it was meant to me a more affordable base model Alfa Romeo. Styled by Giugiaro it was a very successful model. The first cars had as flat four 1.2 litre engine much sportier Alfasud TI followed the following year 1974 with increased power, afterwards followed by Alfasud SE and Alfasud L - L for Lusso or Luxury. Then in 1976 the Alfasud had the 5 speed gearbox the Alfasud Sprint came as a 2 door coupe with hatchback and 1.3 litre engine. For 1978 the 1350cc  and 1500cc engines were available. 1980 saw a very new look to a 2 door coupe Alfasud designed by Giugiaro, available as 1300, 1500 and Veloce specification which had a good production run which continued to 1989.

Tyre size for Alfasud:

- Alfasud models up to 1400cc throughout the production were fitted with 145R13 tyre size, and Blockley produces an excellent steel belt construction example.

- All other Alfasud models had larger 14" wheels with tyre size 165R14 and Blockley produces a excellent steel belted, good speed rated 165HR14 also . Note that these 165R14 tyres could also be referred to as 165-350 which confuse people into thinking they are a millimetric size, but this is exactly the same and just numbered in an all metric manner! For those wanting a wider tyre (but same diamater) we also produce the 185/70VR14 size  See full details of any of these tyre sizes below:
