Aston Martin - Aston Martin DB5

For the DB5 of 1963 the Tadek Marek designed engine was enlarged from 3.7 to 4 litres which now produced 282hp in road going tune, but otherwise the DB5 was a development of the model it replaced. The DB5 had the 3 carburettor set up and the earlier 4 speed with overdrive way of doing things was replaced with a 5 speed gearbox supplied from ZF in Germany. And although the chassis length stayed the same, the DB5 was some 2 cwt. heavier, this weight gain probably due to the features like electric windows and other essential necessities! The DB5 was in production up to 1965.

The tyre size for the Aston Martin DB5 from the factory new was 6.70x15 which equates to radial tyre size 185VR15 . If one wanted to fit anything wider there is the 205/70WR15 tyre (which is the same diameter but wider) or the altogether larger 215/70VR15 size, all of which sizes Blockley produces exceptional examples of.
