Talbot - Talbot Horizon
The Talbot Horizon was launched in 1978 after the Peugeot takeover, and was marketed on the European mainland as the Simca Horizon and in the USA as the Chrysler Horizon, the model that took over from the Hillman Avenger. All quite a complex marketing scenario. These Talbot, Simca and Chrysler models were fitted with the Simca 1,100, 1,300 and 1,500cc engines, along with a 1.9 litre diesel that was added to the range later.
Tyre size for the Talbot Horizon LS, Horizon GL and Horizon GLS was 145R13 (fitted on their 4 1/2 J wheel), while tyre size for the Talbot Horizon SX was the slightly larger 155R13 fitted on the 5J wheel. There was also the wider version of the 155R13 tyre which was the 175/70R13 fitted to the 5 1/2J wheel.
