Toyota - Toyota Corona
The Toyota Corona available from 1957 and by 1960 was the first Toyota car to be exported from Japan, with the Toyota name, with it's third generation Corona model of 1964 becoming a successful selling car in the USA. This was an uprated specification model with a 1587cc 90hp engine. For late 1968 the Corona Mark 2 was an altogether much larger car, longer and wider
The earliest Toyota Coronas were fitted with tyre size 5.60x14 and a radial equivalent available is the 165R14 size. From about 1960 onwards the Toyota Corona were fitted with smaller 13" wheels and 5.90x13 tyres on them, the radial tyre equivalent size being 165R13 . The later Corona Mk2 was offered from the factory listed with a choice of either cross ply 6.45x13 or the radial 165R13 tyre size.
By the 1970's the Toyota Corona tyre size were factory listed on all Corona models with the 185/70HR14 tyre. From 1973 the 155R13 size was also listed on the smaller models, and for those wanting a wider version of this tyre there is also the 175/70R13 size. The larger capacity 1600 S models had 165R13 tyre size on 4 1/2 J wheel rims, as did the Corona 1900, and 1900 Mk2 cars.
