Alfa Romeo - Alfa Romeo 1600 Spider Duetto

The Alfa Romeo 1600 Spider Duetto was the open 2 seater (also available in hardtop) designed by Battista Pininfarina, and was the last model of the Giulia 105 range. First shown at Geneva in March 1966, the name Duetto came about as a result of a competition to find a suitable name. The new name was needed so there could be no confusion with the earlier Pinin Farina design of Giulia Spyder which was also 1600cc. The Duetto was made over a 2 year period of 1966 and 1967. A well handling car with disc brakes to all 4 wheels, it was initially of 1600cc capacity but toward the end of production it was renamed again as the Alfa Romeo Spider with an engine size increased to nearly 1800cc (1779cc).

Alfa Romeo Spider Duetto tyre size was originally 155SR15, and Blockley manufacture the perfect high speed rated 155HR15 tyre. Blockley also produce a whitewall version of this same 155HR15 tyre. See full details of both these 15 inch tyres below. Some tyre lists suggest some later Spider Duetto were fitted with 14" wheels and 165R14 tyre size (which could even be replaced with the wider 185/70R14 tyre size). Blockley make most tyre sizes for Classic cars in 15" and smaller 14" should any other size tyre be required for an Alfa Romeo. See details of the Alfa Duetto tyre size options below:
