Hillman - Hillman Minx
The Hillman Minx name first appeared in 1932. From 1956 onwards the Hillman Minx models, as part of the Rootes Group, looked very like the Singer Gazelle and Sunbeam Rapier.
Tyre sizes for Hillman Minx :
- Hillman Minx made prewar (1932 to 1934) tyre size was 450x18. Blockley makes the perfect 450/500x18 tyre to suit.
- For Hillman Minx made between 1954 and 1963 (Hillman Minx Mk 8 to Minx Series 4) the tyre size originally was 5.60x15, which is radial equivalent 155R15. Note we also make this 155R15 tyre in white wall also. But 5.60x15 is also very close to the 165R15 tyre size, and Blockley produces a period correct steel belted good speed rated 165VR15 tyre - all details below.
- Tyre size for Hillman Minx made between 1963 and 1970 (using 13" wheels) which covers Minx Series 5 and Minx Series 6, the Super Minx and New Minx, the radial tyre size for these cars is 165R13, and Blockley make the perfect steel belt period correct 165HR13 with a good speed rating and handling, with period correct tread pattern.
